Mr. Rankin has been blessed to work with amazing teams founding, leading, and advising entrepreneurial organizations for much of his 27 year career in high tech. His passion is to see entrepreneurial teams transform the world. Prior to joining the Board of Directors at Fidus Systems, Kevin served as President of Fidus in 2008, enabling Founder and CEO, Mike Wakim, to take a sabbatical to celebrate the many successes Fidus had achieved over the years. Mr. Rankin is the CEO of eSight Corp., a company that develops personal video-based vision systems that enable those challenged with low vision to get more out of life. Mr. Rankin founded Ottawa-based Tropic Networks Inc. As CEO, he led the company from its inception in 2000 to its acquisition by Alcatel-Lucent in April 2007. Mr. Rankin has served as a board member for International Datacasting Corporation (TSX: IDC), and an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Ottawa Center for Research and Innovation (OCRI). Mr. Rankin has held a variety of management positions at Newbridge Networks, LSI Logic and Northern Telecom.
